LTG Douglas D. Buchholz Memorial Scholarship

To honor the memory of Lieutenant General Douglas D. Buchholz, USA (Ret.), the scholarship is made possible by a generous donation from General Dynamics C4 Systems.  A scholarship in the amount of $2,000 will be awarded to one competitively selected and deserving Fort Gordon, Georgia enlisted soldier each year.  Selection will be based on the recommendation of a Scholarship Board under the guidance of the Fort Gordon Command Sergeant Major.

Candidates must be current active enlisted soldiers assigned to Fort Gordon, Georgia, have completed a minimum of 15 semester hours/25 quarter hours, be currently enrolled either full or part time at an accredited U.S. college and majoring in the following or related fields of electrical, chemical, systems or aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics, science or mathematics education, or computer science. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. Intelligence enterprises or national security with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Submission of a 450-650 word essay is required on the subject:  "Noting how rapid changes in technology have impacted our world in the last few years (for better or worse), explain how you plan to use technology to change how things are done today for the better?"
